Kevin Campbell claims the way in which West Brom lost against Tottenham last weekend will be a “real sickener” for manager Slaven Bilic.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, the former Baggies and Arsenal striker said the newly-promoted side “did not deserve” to lose to Spurs and rued the “one slip” that cost them on Sunday.
An 88th minute header from Harry Kane secured Jose Mourinho’s side all three points at the Hawthorns to leave the Baggies 18th in the Premier League.
Football Insider pundit and former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor tips Slaven Bilic to be sacked if he does not win one of his next four matches.
Pressure is mounting on Bilic with West Brom still yet to win a Premier League match this season.
However, Campbell, who spent two seasons at the Hawthorns as a player, backed the under-fire Baggies boss.
“I think Bilic is doing a good job,” he told Football Insider. “They did not deserve to lose against Spurs at the weekend.
“It was the way that they scored which will be the real sickener for Slaven.
“It was a ball in the box that should really have been dealt with. When it does not get dealt with, the likes of Harry Kane will punish you.
“It really is a sickener for West Brom because they frustrated Spurs and at times they were in the ascendancy in the second half. One slip gave Spurs the three points.”
