James Maddison, Declan Rice react to Dominic Solanke’s ‘transition’ message
Dominic Solanke’s one word message has gathered a reaction amid Tottenham manager Thomas Frank’s pursuit of Brentford forward Yoane Wissa.
Frank was appointed the club’s new manager last month following the sacking of Ange Postecoglou despite the former Celtic boss winning the Europa League whilst at the club.
The Dane enjoyed great success at Brentford, winning them promotion to the Premier League for the first time in their history before establishing them as a top-flight club.
Following his departure from the Gtech Community Stadium, Frank wants to reunite with Wissa and bring the 28-year-old to North London.

Solanke captured with Spurs target
Solanke took to Instagram to post pictures from his summer break and his return to pre-season training with Spurs and captioned the post “transition.”
The striker was also spotted with Spurs linked Kyle Walker-Peters, following the expiry of his contract at Southampton, which was liked by many of his team mates including Maddison.
He joined the club in a £65million deal from Bournemouth last summer following a successful spell on the South Coast after his departure from Liverpool.
Wissa arrival could form dangerous duo
Football Insider Verdict
Solanke scored nine Premier League goals last season following his big money move from Bournemouth, and Frank clearly feels the need to add competition and support to the striker role.
Wissa spent four seasons playing under Frank at Brentford and his partnership with Mbeumo last campaign was one of the most productive in Premier League history.
Appearances | 39 |
Goals | 20 |
Assists | 5 |
Before Ivan Toney left Brentford, Wissa played as a winger supporting the striker, showing he can be productive on the wing or through the centre.
If Wissa does arrive, his versatility and flexibility to adapt to different formations would prove a useful asset for Frank.
Forming a strike partnership with Solanke could work and add a different dimension to Spurs’ attack.
The arrival of Mohammed Kudus and the creativity James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevki already bring to the side means service wouldn’t be in short supply, and Spurs could have one of the league’s most threatening attacks.
Frank now needs to focus on a defence that conceded 65 Premier league goals last season and potentially replace the departing Cristian Romero.
If Spurs can stop leaking goals, their attack suggests they should be pushing the European spots next season following their disastrous 17th placed finish last time out.
