Jarrod Bowen issues new West Ham update ahead of Brentford clash

Jarrod Bowen has provided West Ham fans with a new training update as the side prepare to face Brentford.

West Ham will face Brentford this weekend in the Premier League on 15 February at the London Stadium.

They were knocked out of the FA Cup by Aston Villa, so the team has had plenty of time to prepare for this week’s fixture.

Bowen spent the weekend watching the Six Nations and away from football drama. He attended Twickenham to watch England beat France in a pulsating fixture that ended 26-25.

Bowen returned to West Ham action against Chelsea after a spell out due to injury earlier this month. He scored the opening goal, but Graham Potter’s side were beaten 2-1 on 3 February.

Graham Potter pleased Jarrod Bowen is back in the squad amid West Ham transfer speculation

The winger took to Instagram to provide fans with an update, posting photos on his story of him training with the team.

His return will be welcome news to Potter, as the side have struggled in attack during his absence especially with the likes of Niclas Fullkrug and Michail Antonio also suffering injuries.

However, Bowen’s importance to the team and his performances have caught the attention of major clubs.

Football Insider revealed that Liverpool have been monitoring Bowen in case Mohamed Salah leaves Merseyside at the end of the season.

Liverpool have previously shown interest in Bowen, but nothing has materialised recently. That could change if Salah doesn’t sign a new contract, as he has just a few months left on his current deal.

West Ham need to build momentum amid league struggles

Football Insider Verdict

Despite his absence and the ongoing speculation, Bowen has proven to be key for West Ham this season.

The Englishman has made 22 appearances for the East London club, scoring an impressive seven goals and providing four assists during that period.

He spent the entirety of January sidelined with a foot injury, but the West Ham captain is now back in the team.

The club have faced plenty of challenges both on and off the pitch this season, including a managerial change from Julen Lopetegui to Potter. Technical director Tim Steidten also left the club earlier this month.

But Potter will look to Bowen to help regain the team’s form as they sit 15th in the league table, closer to the relegation zone than a European spot.
