Jordan Henderson and Declan Rice react to Dominic Solanke’s Tottenham message

Dominic Solanke has taken to social media after Tottenham’s Europa League success, with Arsenal rival Declan Rice, and England teammate Jordan Henderson reacting.

Tottenham beat Man United 1-0 in Bilbao, with a 42nd-minute goal from Brennan Johnson enough to secure them the Europa League title.

Spurs clinched their place in the Champions League next season with the win, as well as ending their 17-year trophy drought.

It has been a dismal season domestically for the North London side, who sit 17th in the Premier League with just one game remaining.

However, after winning the club some European success, Ange Postecoglou could remain at Tottenham despite their horrific league position.

Solanke celebrates maiden trophy

In Bilbao, Solanke helped win Tottenham’s first major trophy since 2008, as well as securing his own maiden piece of major silverware.

To celebrate, the English striker took to social media, posting a photo of himself holding the Europa League trophy.

The caption simply read: “Yeah,” as Solanke let the images do the talking.

The forward’s international teammate Henderson liked the post to show his appreciation, as did Arsenal midfielder Rice, despite the rivalry between the two North London sides.

Rice and Arsenal were knocked out of the Champions League by PSG at the semi-final stage, and finished the season empty-handed.

Solanke scored five goals in 13 games on the run to the final, including finding the net in both semi-final legs against Bodo Glimt.

However, in the final, the forward didn’t even manage a shot on goal, but worked tirelessly to press from the front and help his team.

Tottenham spent the whole of the second half sitting back and defending their lead, abandoning Postecoglou’s gung-ho philosophy to secure the win.

On the other hand, Ruben Amorim faces significant pressure now at Man United, after the Portuguese manager refused to stray away from his own system.

United were woeful throughout the contest, and slinging Harry Maguire up front for the final minutes was the pinnacle of Amorim’s managerial initiative, in what was an embarrassing night for the former Sporting boss.
