Kane expected to make Tottenham U-turn by pundit after 'hell-bent' claim

Alan Hutton has claimed the arrival of Antonio Conte could convince Harry Kane to change his mind about quitting Tottenham.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs defender suggested the Italian boss can give the 28-year-old what he wants to remain in north London.

As reported by the Sun (4th November), Kane is prepared to pull a U-turn on his plans to leave Tottenham after Conte’s appointment this week.

As revealed by Football Insider earlier this year, Kane was “hell-bent” on quitting Spurs as Manchester City made a move for his capture.

However, the hitman reportedly has faith in Conte’s ability to make the north Londoners competitive and lead the club to silverware.

Hutton insisted the “foundations” are there for Spurs to challenge for trophies.

He suggested Conte could be the catalyst to push the club to the next level.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Harry Kane came out publicly and said how he wants to win things.

“Tottenham are obviously a big team but they were kind of idling, they weren’t really going anywhere.

“Now they’ve got an elite manager. They’ve got the foundations to build on, in my opinion, everything’s there.

“So if he can come in, obviously hit the ground running, get the best out some of the players round about him and add to this team in January, you’ve got the basis there of a very good team.

“So if they’re going to challenge, maybe next year, why does he have to leave then?

“Don’t get me wrong, it will be interesting to see if the likes of Man City come back in January.

“But if Conte gets his way, I think he can turn it round.”
