Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is making all the right sounds ahead of the new Premier League season as he landed in Germany for a week-long training camp.

Talking in the Liverpool Echo, Klopp revealed that the team is staying in a camp about an hour away from Munich.

He said the plan was to turn his team into “a confident, strong, powerful and tactically smart side.”

He will be hoping that these four attributes are enough to turn his team into Premier League winners and make their rivals fear them.

The Liverpool Echo revealed that the camp will be intense, with double training sessions planned for the 30-strong squad that includes new signing Andy Robertson, Mohamed Salah and Dominic Salah.

“We didn’t want to be actually in Munich because we wanted a proper camp,” he said.

“When we heard we would be part of the Audi Cup we decided to stay in this place. It’s a fantastic area – maybe the most beautiful area in the whole of Germany.

“It will be a really good camp. We have fantastic games with Hertha and then the Audi Cup so it’s really exciting.

“We will try everything to become a confident, strong, powerful and tactically smart side. That’s the plan.”

Klopp’s first season was a moderate success, with a top-four spot guaranteeing Champions League football.

However, they struggled when they had to do without star attacker Sadio Mane, and also didn’t seem to have a Plan B when Klopp’s pressing tactics didn’t work.

Liverpool fans will be hoping that’s changed this season and Klopp’s words will be reassuring.

He concluded by saying that this summer feels “different” after having a full season working with most of his players.

“I know more about the boys and they know more about me,” Klopp said and fans will be hoping this understanding leads to silverware in the upcoming season.

In other Liverpool team news, this transfer-linked trio were exiled from the Reds’ squad for their pre-season trip.
