Leeds fans call on Monk to axe 25-year-old against Birmingham
By Will Butcher
Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to urge Garry Monk to drop versatile attacker Souleymane Doukara against Birmingham on Friday night.
Doukara, 25, saw out the entire 90 minutes of Saturday’s 1-0 win against Sheffield Wednesday, keeping the likes of Alfonso Pedraza, Modou Barrow and Stuart Dallas out of the side.
However, the Frenchman was at fault during the second half as he almost gifted Yorkshire rivals Wednesday an equaliser, clumsily fouling Sam Hutchinson in his own penalty area.
Goalkeeper Rob Green saved Doukara’s blushes by superbly saving Jordan Rhodes’ spot kick, but his place in the side could now be under threat as Leeds travel to St. Andrews’ Stadium.
Leeds fans have shown their desire on Twitter to see Doukara drop out of the starting 11 to face Gianfranco Zola’s side, with many claiming that left-back Charlie Taylor could start over him after the academy product returned from injury.

Play Taylor in Doukara's position, he's a better defender and winger. https://t.co/4aJyTfJpxC

Be harsh to drop Berardi when Taylor is fit, in fact, I'd near be tempted to try Taylor LW, because Doukara.

Doukara is currently Leeds’ second highest goalscorer this season, finding the back of the net five times including January’s goal of the month against Nottingham Forest.
However, his future at Elland Road is currently in huge doubt, with his contract set to expire in the summer. Doukara will be hopeful that he is handed another start to prove he deserves a new deal.
