Leeds United announced that 18-year-old midfielder Bobby Kamwa had signed his first professional contract on Wednesday.

The news was announced on the official Leeds United Twitter page and fans took to Twitter to congratulate the youngster.

Kamwa has impressed for the Under-18s and he’ll be looking to progress through to the Under-23s and ultimately the senior squad.

Manager Paul Heckingbottom has shown that he’s happy to give young players a chance, with both goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell and defender Tom Pearce breaking through to the senior team in recent weeks.

Kamwa will be hoping to do the same after a string of eye-catching performances has brought him his first professional contract.

The majority of Leeds fans were fully supportive of Kamwa, although one couldn’t resist taking a dig at the first-team squad.
