Leeds United are reportedly stepping up talks with 20-year-old left-back Tom Pearce, with two Premier League clubs interested – and fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news.
The Yorkshire Evening Post has claimed that Leeds will hold fresh talks with Pearce this week after unleashing him in the first-team without a new contract in place.
His displays in the last five games of the season have alerted both Everton and Bournemouth to his availability and he would be free to walk for a compensation fee as soon as his contract expires at the end of June.
That’s a sticky situation that Leeds could have avoided, as most fans have pointed out on Twitter.
Although one fan rather harshly said that his head has been turned and that Pearce obviously thinks more of himself than he should, and said Leeds should let the player rot.
Here are the best reactions to the report that Leeds and Pearce will hold fresh talks this week:

Just get him signed, he's better than anyone you have got.
If he does not sign we all know who's fault it is and just because you didn't get two clubs relegated this season don't mean you can get us relegated next season PH, ORTA, KINNEAR, BRAVO, VIO AND RADZ

The thing is.. is the club being stingy.. or is he (his agent) being greedy.. we need to have someone to blame dammit.
I understand the need to get paid but in my weird world.. if you want to play for the club you sign the deal.. very few underpaid players these days

It’s my feeling that he has had his head turned well if that’s the case then get shut wrong attitude for Leeds thinks he is world beater when really he has a lot to learn yes has shown promise but he is a Charlie Taylor wannabe let him go and rot in reserves if he feels that way
