Felix Wiedwald played the full 90 minutes between the sticks for Leeds in Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground – and fans on Twitter were happy with his display.
The 27-year-old German stopper made the switch to the north of England from Werder Bremen earlier this summer and has seemingly taken the number one spot from Rob Green, who was left out of the squad amid reports linking him to Premier League Huddersfield.
Wiedwald will have been delighted to mark his fourth clean sheet in a Whites shirt alongside finishing on the winning side after Kemar Roofe scored the opener in the first half with a header before Ezgjan Alioski secured the victory with a long-range effort.
Leeds fans themselves were also happy with what Wiedwald showed when he was called into action with many seeing him as a capable stopper.
Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Not much in it. Took our chance well. Defence and Wiedwald look excellent so far

Quick mention for Wiedwald too, esp after Green news: looked safe when called upon – quick off line, distribution good. No complaints #lufc

Felix's kicking is amazing. He can put it on someone's head from 60 yards. #lufc

Saturday’s clash marked Wiedwald’s sixth appearance in a Leeds shirt since his move, conceding three goals, while keeping four clean sheets.
Both himself and the fans will have been delighted with the start that the German has made to his Whites career with many goalkeepers failing with the transition from a European league to England previously.
In other Leeds news, fans on Twitter also reacted to reported links to this 23-year-old forward.
