Leeds fans react on Twitter to confirmed attacker blow ahead of Newcastle encounter
By Amir Mir
Newcastle striker Dwight Gayle is a big doubt for the Friday night clash against Leeds – and fans of the Yorkshire club are pleased to hear the news.
The club confirmed on their official website that Gayle sustained a hamstring injury during the 2-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend.
It is said the 27-year-old attacker is undergoing tests in order to determine the seriousness of the injury as it is not yet known how long he will be out of action for.
Gayle possibly missing the up and coming clash would be a big blow to Rafa Benitez, who is on the verge of securing promotion to the Premier League.
They will be looking to get over the line in front of their own supporters against a Leeds team hoping to finish in the top six.

However, there were others that felt that there are still a number of quality players that Monk’s side should stop, such as Jonjo Shelvey and Matt Ritchie.
