'Rare asset', 'A lot of money': Leeds fans react on Twitter to mega-bucks striker speculation
By Matt Farr
Leeds striker Chris Wood has reportedly caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs – but fans on Twitter have urged him to stay.
The 27-year-old demonstrated his ability as one of the most prolific goalscorers in England this season, with 30 goals from 48 appearances in all competitions.
But Leeds’ failure to secure promotion to the Premier League has raised questions over the future of Wood at Elland Road, and a host of clubs have been alerted to the situation.
Meanwhile, the Sun suggest that ‘it would be a major surprise if he was not playing in the Premier League next season’, and that he is valued at a mega-bucks £20million by Leeds.

However, fans are determined to see Wood front their promotion charge again next season, and want Garry Monk and Andrea Radrizzani to shut the door on any potential interest.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Chris Wood story is mildly worrying but you have to remember that any good player will attract interest. Interest alone means nothing. #lufc

IF we sold Wood who could we honestly get in to replace him? He offers more than just goals. #lufc

If we're serious about next season we shouldn't even be considering selling Wood after the season he has just had, whatever price #lufc

I still can't believe some fans are tempted by the money. Wood has proved he can take the weight of pressure for Leeds fans. Rare asset.

Football Insider also exclusively revealed that Wood was on the radar of Everton, who unlike their rivals, could offer the striker European football next season.
Leeds finished seventh in the Championship this season, after a drastic decline in form during the final weeks saw them slip five points adrift of the play-offs.
In other Leeds United transfer news, the club have been installed as strong favourites to sign this 28-year-old ace.
