Leeds trio generating ‘huge’ interest as exits edge closer – sources
Leeds United stars Crysencio Summerville, Archie Gray and Wilfried Gnonto are unlikely to want to play in the Championship amid widespread transfer interest.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that Leeds will be tested in their resolve to keep hold of those players in the summer transfer window.
Sources say that Leeds will still likely be forced to sell players this summer despite new investment from Red Bull, with exits on the cards already.
Interest in the likes of Summerville, 22, Gnonto, 20, and Gray, 18, has grown since the club missed out on promotion, with top-flight sides keen to pluck them from the Championship.
Leeds United stars unlikely to remain in the Championship
The club need to balance the books at Elland Road to avoid a possible points deduction amid the threat of breaching profit and sustainability rules.
As revealed by Football Insider, the club must recoup £150million in player sales after failing to gain promotion to the Premier League.
Tottenham are said to have a “concrete” interest in Gray, Summerville has been linked with moves to Liverpool or Chelsea, while Gnonto has attracted “big” interest from across Europe.
Sources now say all three players could explore a move away from Elland Road if they are presented with the opportunity to play Premier League football.
All three players played a huge role in Leeds reaching the playoff final last season, helping Daniel Farke to reach 90 points in the Championship.
Gray made 52 appearances in his breakthrough season, Summerville featured 49 times, scoring 21 and assisting 10 while winning the Player of the Season award, while Gnonto scored nine and assisted three in 44 games.

As a result, Leeds are keen to retain their talented stars, but could be forced to sell due to financial implications, with the players set to consider their options.
In other news, the club remains at risk of a points deduction.
