Liam Bridcutt calls for reaction from the Leeds team after bitter disappointment

Leeds captain Liam Bridcutt has called for his team to return to winning ways after the “bitter disappointment” suffered against Barnsley in their last fixture.
The Yorkshire giants fell to a 3-2 defeat against the Tykes with a Chris Wood double cancelled out by goals from Ryan Kent, Tom Bradshaw and Connor Hourihane.
It marked their first defeat in seven matches in all competitions and saw Leeds surrender their third place spot and move down to fifth.
Bridcutt, 27, played 84 minutes of the clash in the centre of the park and he has demanded a reaction from his teammates going into Wednesday’s Elland Road clash against Nottingham Forest.
“Defeats are rare for us these days, so losing at Oakwell was a bitter disappointment,” said Bridcutt in the buildup to the midweek fixture, as quoted by the Mirror.

“We didn’t expect it, and it’s hard to put your finger on why it happened because we went there having given one of our best performances of the season in beating Derby the previous game.
“We had been on a great run, winning five out of six before going to Barnsley, and now we are determined to put things right against Forest.
“We have proved so often in the past that we have the character and quality to get straight back on track after a loss, and that’s what we aim to do again.”
Leeds have not lost at Elland Road since their 2-0 defeat against Newcastle on 20 November.
They will know that a win on Wednesday will move them up to third place with the rest of the Championship gaining a game in hand.
However, a defeat against manager-less Nottingham Forest could put their play off position under severe threat.
Derby are currently the team occupying seventh placed in the table and they are five points behind Leeds going into Wednesday evening.
However, a win for the Rams accompanied by a loss for the Whites could move the two sides within two points of each other.
