Liverpool fans rage at ‘shocking’ Alexander-Arnold after what he did v Chelsea

Liverpool fans have been left fuming at Trent Alexander-Arnold after his performance in their clash v Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Arne Slot’s side fell to a 3-1 defeat the week after lifting the Premier League title, with Enzo Fernandez’s third-minute strike putting the Blues ahead at half time.

The second half saw Chelsea limit Liverpool’s attack before finding a second via a Jarell Quansah own-goal, which meant Virgil van Dijk’s late goal was merely a consolation and Cole Palmer rounded off the display with a late penalty.

Despite a poor all-round display from the Reds, leading to accusations of the players being “hungover”, it was Alexander-Arnold who took the most stick.

The right-back was dragged off after 57 minutes, having won just one ground duel, lost possession 16 times and completed just 75 per cent of his passes. [Sofascore]

As a result, fans are claiming they are counting down the days until he joins Real Madrid.

Trent Alexander-Arnold exit update emerges at Anfield

Football Insider revealed on 21 April that the Liverpool star will announce his Real Madrid move soon despite having publicly kept his cards close to his chest.

That is despite some suggestion of a potential U-turn to remain at Anfield after both Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk committed their futures to the club.

Alexander-Arnold is expected to walk away at the end of the season, with all parties now preparing to move on after a successful final year.

Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 27 April that Alexander-Arnold is not part of Slot’s plans for the future at Anfield after his decision to quit the club.

Liverpool fans tear into ‘shocking’ Trent Alexander-Arnold

This is not the first time Liverpool fans have slammed Alexander-Arnold after previously labelling him “terrible” after a “disaster” performance v Man City.

The right-back’s defensive ability has long been a source of contention, leading to frustrating performances and results, and that was highlighted once again.

Following his display against Chelsea, travelling supporters have taken to social media to make their frustrations known as they labelled him “shocking”.
