Rangers have confirmed that Steven Gerrard will be their new manager in the summer – and Liverpool fans have been going crazy on Twitter after seeing one of the greatest-ever players move into management.
The Scottish giants announced on their official Twitter account on Friday afternoon that Gerrard, 37, had agreed a four-year deal at Ibrox and will take charge after the current season comes to a close.

Graeme Murty had been in charge since last October, however he was relieved of his duties this week in the wake of a 5-0 defeat to bitter rivals Celtic which handed the Scottish Premiership title to Brendan Rodgers’ side.
And now, Rodgers is poised to take on his former player at Liverpool next season as the eyes of the world will be cast upon Glasgow for what will be a stunning encounter that has rarely been seen before.
Liverpool fans were delighted to see their former midfielder get such a prestigious move after turning down MK Dons two years ago.
Here is a selection of their tweets:

One good thing about #Gerrard going to #RangersFC is that people will stop calling for him to become the new assistant coach at #LFC, despite there being little sign he has the tactical acumen to work at that level. #bbcgerrard

Imagine the scenes if Gerrard actually does well with Rangers and makes them title contenders again in the SPL.
I hope he does, either way it'll be a good learning experience for him. #LFC

Gerrard will most likely be at Ibrox on Saturday when Rangers take on Kilmarnock.
The Light Blues are still battling to finish second in the Scottish Premiership standings after slipping down to third in the last few weeks of Murty’s reign.
In other Liverpool news, the Reds are working on two midfield goal machine deals with one on the verge of an agreement.
