Liverpool handed massive blow ahead of clash v Man City, superstar to miss game - report

Virgil Van Dijk is set to miss the huge Premier League game against Man City at Anfield on Sunday afternoon, according to a report.
The Liverpool Echo claim that the newly-signed defender has a tight hamstring and won’t be risked.
It’s a huge blow for Liverpool in a game that they will be desperate to get something out of.
Man City are the runaway Premier League leaders and haven’t lost a game all season, but they they haven’t won at Anfield in 15 years.
Liverpool are in fourth spot, 18 points behind, and seemingly already playing for second place.
Virgil Van Dijk joined Liverpool in the January transfer window from Southampton for £75million and made a dream debut when he scored the winning goal in the FA Cup game against bitter rivals Everton last week.
It is reported that Deja Lovren will be drafted into the first team as his replacement.
Liverpool will be looking to avenge the humiliating 5-0 thrashing they suffered at the Etihad in September after Sadio Mane was sent off.
In other Liverpool team news, this defensive colossus wanted by the Reds is on the verge of a £20million switch.
