'Far away from Man United' – Gerrard takes a dig at rivals over La Liga sensation
By Danny Wright
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard does not want Manchester United to sign Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann.
United have been constantly linked with bringing the La Liga star to Old Trafford in the summer and Gerrard is desperate for that not to happen.
The Manchester Evening News most recently claimed Jose Mourinho had made Griezman his number one target for the summer.
The 26-year-old is one of European football’s hottest properties and Gerrard hinted that he thinks a move to Man United would cause a massive divide in quality between the two North-West rivals.
“I think he’s one of the best at finding space, gaps and hurting teams,” said Gerrard in a video on the BT Sport Twitter page.

He was then asked if he was Griezmann’s agent where would he take him, to which Gerrard replied: “As far away from Manchester United as you can find.”
"Get him as far away from Manchester!"

Griezmann has scored 24 goals and supplied 11 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions for Diego Simeone’s side this season.
He and his teammates secured their spot in the Champions League semi-finals on Tuesday when they beat Premier League champions 2-1 Leicester on aggregate.
Gerrard, 36, made over 700 appearances for Liverpool but never won the league title on Merseyside.
His time at Anfield was always spent seeing his boyhood club in the shadows of Man United.
Currently, Jurgen Klopp’s side are above United in the Premier League table but Gerrard is desperate to see his old club become the dominant force in the North-West.
Jose Mourinho and his men have two games-in-hand on Liverpool and are six points behind them.
In other Liverpool news, Klopp has made an emphatic decision on solving this problem area.
