‘Marc Guehi could be about to sign for Liverpool – there’s nothing Glasner can do’
Oliver Glasner will be powerless to keep Marc Guehi at Crystal Palace this summer amid interest from the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle.
Palace’s captain will have just 12 months remaining on his contract in June, and is now widely expected to leave the club amid ever-growing interest.
Ex-Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 29 May that Tottenham will accelerate their efforts to sign Guehi if they lose Cristian Romero.
Now, former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider that Liverpool and Newcastle are the two front-runners to land the 24-year-old this summer.
Both clubs are seen as ideal destinations for him and both are believed to have been keeping a close eye on his situation at Selhurst Park.
That is despite Glasner’s insistence that he wants to keep his squad together after lifting the FA Cup and securing qualification for the Europa League.

Liverpool eye Marc Guehi swoop after Crystal Palace latest
Football Insider revealed on 20 May that Crystal Palace will struggle to keep Guehi this summer as their cup win has made little difference to his situation.
The Eagles are believed to have been in contract talks with the defender for over a year now, but have been unable to tie him down.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Robinson explained that Glasner will not decide the defender’s future and Guehi “is done” at Palace.
“Oliver Glasner can say what he wants, but he doesn’t have the final say,” he told Football Insider.
“That’s him putting pressure on the owners because he wants to keep his squad intact.
“They’ve had a fantastic season after a really poor start, Crystal Palace.
“They had a decent Premier League campaign, lifted their first trophy and first bit of silverware, and got European football, it’s an incredible achievement.
“The manager wants to grow the club and push the club forward.
“For Europe, he’s going to need a strong squad and he wants to keep the likes of Eze and Guehi.
“Guehi, with his contract, is done and he’s going to go this summer.
“With 12 months left on his deal, they could have maximised their profits last year, but now it’s going to be a summer move.
“Newcastle and Liverpool look like very good landing spots, both teams are aware of his quality.
“If I was the manager at Crystal Palace I would be saying I want to keep my whole squad, because they’ve had a fantastic season, but I don’t think that’s going to be the case.”

Anthony Gordon update emerges at Anfield
Guehi is believed to have been a long-term target for Liverpool, and he is not the only player they have been aiming to sign over the last couple of seasons.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 22 May that Anthony Gordon is still on Slot’s radar and the Reds are prepared to reignite their interest this summer.
The 24-year-old came close to a move to Anfield last summer and told friends at the time that he was “very keen” on the switch.
Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool could sign Gordon regardless of whether they land Florian Wirtz if they can cash in on another forward.
