Marcus Edwards sends ‘big’ message amid Man United transfer news
Burnley forward Marcus Edwards shared his thoughts after a crucial Championship victory, as speculation over his future continues to grow.
Burnley secured a vital 2-1 win over Cardiff City on 4 March, strengthening their push for promotion to the Premier League.
The victory came at the cost of their incredible defensive streak, as they conceded for the first time in 12 consecutive matches—bringing an end to goalkeeper James Trafford and co-owner JJ Watt’s lighthearted bet that a clean sheet run would see Watt return to American football.
Josh Brownhill opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a composed first-time finish, while Maxime Esteve doubled Burnley’s lead just before half-time.
Edwards, who started the game, was involved in the goal they conceded after a misplaced pass allowed Yousef Salech to rise highest and find the net.
Man United have been linked to Sporting CP loanee Edwards but he remained upbeat on social media, reflecting on the victory in his latest post.

The 26-year-old shared multiple photos from the match on his Instagram story, captioning one of them simply: “Big win!”.

Currently on loan at Burnley from Sporting CP, Edwards’ deal includes an option for the Clarets to make the move permanent for £10 million at the end of the season.
He has already made an impact under Scott Parker, scoring twice in just six appearances, taking his tally for the campaign to five goals in 16 matches.
With his impressive form, interest in the winger is only expected to grow. Everton were linked with a move for Edwards in January, but he ultimately chose Burnley—a decision that could prove crucial in their promotion bid.

Scott Parker keeps Burnley focused on Premier League promotion amid Edwards speculation
Edwards previously played under current Man United manager Ruben Amorim at Sporting, which could make him an attractive option for the Red Devils should they decide to make a move in the summer.
However, Parker will be keen to ensure the winger stays focused on Burnley’s promotion push. The Clarets sit third in the Championship, just two points behind second-placed Sheffield United, while Leeds lead the table with 76 points.
With every result now crucial, their next test comes against Luton Town on 8 March as they continue their fight for a top-two finish.
