Marcus Rashford and Cole Palmer react to Jadon Sancho after stunning Chelsea latest
Jadon Sancho’s message on social media has attracted major reactions after Chelsea’s Champions League qualification hopes took a blow in their 2-2 draw against Ipswich.
Enzo Maresca‘s side found themselves with a mountain to climb at the break after Julio Enciso and Ben Johnson both scored and assisted to put the Tractor Boys into a commanding lead.
The hosts started quickly in the second-half, however, with Marc Cucurella’s effort being turned into his own net by Alex Tuanzebe just 20 seconds after the restart.
In a decision which was originally booed by the home fans, Sancho replaced Noni Madueke to curl home his first Stamford Bridge goal for Chelsea in stunning fashion, and rescue a point for his side.
The result leaves Chelsea sixth in the Premier League after Newcastle‘s victory over Manchester United, a point off City, who currently occupy the final Champions League spot ahead of next season.
Sancho’s future is unclear with Chelsea currently in line to buy him from Man United, but tipped to potentially sell him on again straight away.
Six finals to go for Chelsea in their hunt for Champions League football
In a message from Sancho’s official Instagram account on Sunday (13 April), he addressed the Chelsea fans following the disappointing result by saying: “6 finals to go, together as one!”
Club teammate Cole Palmer was quick to react to the message with a comment which said: “Pffft” to an image of the winger’s sublime strike to draw Chelsea level.
On loan Manchester United winger, Marcus Rashford, was next to show his support by liking Sancho’s message.
Chelsea need more from Jadon Sancho
Football Insider Verdict
Every so often, Sancho gives the footballing world a stark reminder of his talent, and the 25-year-old did just that with his pinpoint finish against Ipswich.
Almost in one flowing action, the England international shifted the ball out of his feet before finding the top corner with a curling shot.
It was an effort of the highest quality and not one which you would normally associate with a player amidst an 18 game goal drought.

Maresca’s decision to bring Sancho on for Madueke was met by a chorus of boos from the home support and proved how the Chelsea fans’ feelings have changed since his arrival last summer.
The aim for Sancho now will be to build on his impressive cameo against Ipswich and rediscover his form ahead of Chelsea’s “six finals” to end the season.
