Medical underway: Norwich finalise Riley deal after bid accepted - Sources

Norwich City have agreed a £250,000 deal for Bolton Wanderers youngster Regan Riley, Football Insider understands.

This site revealed on Thursday Norwich had beaten Premier League side Brighton & Hove Albion to the 18-year-old midfielder.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider Riley is currently undergoing a medical with the Championship high-fliers.

Riley became Bolton’s fifth youngest-ever player last season when he made his debut against Tranmere Rovers in League One.

He made his first start for the club in their 2-1 defeat to Shrewsbury Town in the EFL Trophy earlier this season.

Evatt refused to be drawn on Norwich’s interest on Friday but told the Bolton News he rates the boyhood Bolton fan highly.

He added: “Certainly we’re not in a rush to sell or anything like that, we’ll do what we think is right for the football club moving forward and what’s going to be of benefit.”

Norwich City are eyeing an immediate return to the Premier League and currently sit six points clear of the play-off positions at the top of the table.

Manager Daniel Farke has not been shy of calling up young players this term with teenagers Tyrese Omotoye, Andrew Omobamidele and Josh Martin all regulars in his matchday squad.

Riley will most likely link up with Norwich City’s Under-23s squad who compete in Premier League 2 Division 2.

The young Canaries currently sit in 10th position and have lost their last four games.

In other news, Wolves have set their sights on another young Bolton Wanderers star amid a contract reveal.
