Tottenham FA Cup hero must refuse new deal and leave on a free this summer
Tottenham’s number two keeper Michel Vorm must leave Tottenham this summer before it’s too late to claim the number one spot elsewhere.
With the imperious Hugo Lloris keeping him out of the Tottenham first team since he joined from Swansea in 2014, Vorm has been limited to bit-part appearances for Pochettino.
But wow, when he’s called on he always delivers, and his latest heroics were for his side in the FA Cup game against Swansea at the weekend.
He made an incredible double save early in the second half to deny Tammy Abraham a certain goal and a route back into the game with the score at 2-0 to Spurs.
But it wasn’t just the double save.

Vorm was brilliant throughout the game, calling the shots at the back with the confidence of a man who’s been playing week in, week out.
It didn’t go unnoticed.
Garth Crooks put Vorm in his team of the Week in his column on the BBC Sport website, calling him “superb”.
His loyalty to Spurs is unquestionable. He’s always been the model pro and he should be rewarded by keeping his place all the way to the FA Cup final if Tottenham progress.
And if they lift the trophy in May at Wembley then Vorm will go down as the man who contributed hugely to the first silverware under Pochettino.
And then he should leave.
At 34 he’s got one last contract left in him and he should seek out an opportunity to show that he can be a brilliant number one.
He’ll be a loss to Spurs but after his service no-one would deny him a lucrative move on a free transfer, with his contract up in the summer.
