Mills: Three new Rangers contracts will be all but done after key update

Danny Mills has claimed three new Rangers contracts have been agreed in principle and just need to be signed.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England and Premier League defender suggested minor bonus schedule details will need to be ironed out before they are announced.

This site revealed last week following their title triumph that the Ibrox giants were set for a contract bonanza at the end of the season.

One player that is set to put pen-to-paper on a new deal is Allan McGregor who has privately indicated he will sign a one-year extension when his current contract expires in the summer.

“A lot of those contracts will be pencilled in,” Mils told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.

“I think a lot of those will be done and dusted and bonus schedules will be based on whether they get to the Champions League group stages or not and it will all be sorted out by now.

“In pencil form, let’s put it that way.

“There’s probably two or three contracts sat on the table and it’s a case of ‘If this happens, this is where we go, and if this happens this is where we go.’

“Players will still obviously have the right to say ‘No, not doing that. I don’t agree.’

“But a lot of that will be there or thereabouts.”

The contracts of Steven Davis and Jermain Defoe expire in the summer while defensive stalwarts Connor Goldson and James Tavernier are out of contract in 2022.

Prize assets Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos are tied down until the summer of 2023.
