Ndombele tipped for first league outing since April after two more Tottenham stars ruled out - pundit
Noel Whelan claims Tottenham midfielder Tanguy Ndombele will be given a first Premier League outing of the season “soon”.
The former Leeds hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted after the player’s recall on Thursday.
Ndombele started and turning in an excellent performance against Rennes in the UEFA Conference League.
The midfielder, who requested to leave the North London club in the summer window, played 78 minutes before being replaced by Dele Alli.
The Evening Standard report (18 September) that Nuno has “little choice but to start” Ndombele today.
Spurs have several injured stars including Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn, who both picked up knocks on Thursday.

Speaking about the injuries after the game Nuno Espirito Santo is quoted by Eurosport as saying Moura’s injury “feels really bad”.
Whelan insists Ndombele will make his Premier League return soon.
“We know where we stand with Ndombele,” Whelan told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He wanted to leave the club but he’s still there and getting paid. It’s up to him to show some professionalism.
“He showed his professionalism the other night and he had a really good game. There were some brilliant moments from him.
“We know he has that quality and it’s nice to see him not throw in the towel.
“How can you not want to play football? He went out there and showed what he can do and I expect we might see him in the Premier League very soon.
“There is hope for Tottenham yet.”
Tottenham struggled to a 2-2 draw with Rennes and were spared embarrassment by Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s late strike.
They face Chelsea at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium today looking to get back to winning ways after last weekend’s loss to Crystal Palace.
