Newcastle and West Ham’s stadiums have been raided as part of a police investigation – and fans on Twitter have reacted to the news.

Sky Sports reported on their official Twitter account on Wednesday morning that police have raided St James’ Park and the London Stadium.

The Magpies recently earned promotion to the Premier League, while the Hammers are an established top tier side.

Supporters on both teams saw the funny side of their stadiums being raided, while some Newcastle fans were hoping that it does not result in a points deduction.

Rafa Benitez’ team beat Preston North End on Monday night to secure their return to the top tier of English football.

Therefore, it is no surprise that their fans do not want to see points taken off them which could cause havoc to their season.

One fan joked that the club is being investigated for selling Moussa Sissoko to Tottenham for £30million in the summer.

The France international made a surprise big-money switch to White Hart Lane despite being part of a team that was relegated to the Championship.

West Ham fans also saw the humorous side, with one supporter stating that their terrible performances this season have led to this raid.

Of course, both sets of supporters were joking about the matter as they will be hoping no serious punishments will be put towards their clubs.
