'Who else', 'Class act' - Newcastle fans all asking same question after win v Arsenal

Newcastle United fans have all been left asking whether manager Rafael Benitez should be awarded the Premier League Manager of the Year award after seeing their side beat Arsenal on Sunday.

Goals from Ayoze Perez and Matt Ritchie turned the game on its head after Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring at St James’ Park, handing the Magpies their fourth consecutive victory after beating Southampton, Huddersfield and Leicester City in recent weeks.

Their resurgence in form, with just two defeats to their name in 2018, has seen them scramble away from the relegation battle at the bottom of the table to sit in 10th, just a point behind Everton, with five games left to play.

Following victory over the Gunners, the Newcastle faithful stormed to Twitter to question whether Benitez could be handed the end of season accolade, with names like Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola and Burnley’s Sean Dyche named as his main competitors for their respective successes.

Here, Football Insider rounded up a selection of the supporters’ best tweets:

The Magpies’ two defeats since the turn of the year have come against high flying Liverpool and Manchester City, while they have not lost to a side outside the top six since a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Everton, the side who Newcastle face next week.
