Newcastle fans furious on Twitter to reported interest in PL forward
By Derek Smithson
Newcastle have been linked with Liverpool forward Danny Ings – and the club’s supporters on Twitter are not pleased with the speculation.
The Sun claim that the north-east club are considering a move for the 24-year-old striker as Rafael Benitez looks to bolster his frontline.
It is understood that the Magpies would prefer a loan deal for the injury-prone star due to concerns over his fitness.
The report also details that they are eyeing £15million-rated Cedric Bakambu from Villarreal in what is expected to be a busy summer at St James’ Park.
Ings has endured a frustrating few years in the top flight and several knee injuries have halted the progress of the one-time capped England international.

He made just two senior appearances last season which came in the EFL Cup and spent the rest sidelined due to a knee setback, but is expected to return for pre-season.
Newcastle supporters do not wish Bentiez to sign the unreliable Ings and feel he is too much of a risk.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
I would of liked ings when he first went to liverpool, he would be a massive risk now with all the serious injuries he keeps having #nufc

A fit Danny Ings would be a great signing. Sadly, there is no such thing.

Ings completed his move to Anfield in 2015 and has managed just 11 senior appearances in that time.
The forward impressed during his time with Burnley and scored 43 goals in 130 games for them.
However, he has been unable to fulfil his real potential and there is a real concern that his injury could reoccur.
Newcastle want to strengthen their attacking options and Ings would compete alongside the likes of Dwight Gayle, Daryl Murphy and Aleksandar Mitrovic if he joined.
In other Newcastle transfer news, they are eyeing a move for Chelsea’s goalscoring midfielder.
