'Disgrace', 'Absolute joke' – Newcastle fans lose their minds after BBC pundit tweet
Match of the Day pundit and former newcastle striker Alan Shearer said that he was “very surprised” that Jamaal Lacelles and Jonjo Shelvey didn’t make it into the latest England squad, given the other players that did make the cut – and Newcastle fans agree.
Gareth Southgate announced his 27-man squad to face the Netherlands and Italy on Thursday, and neither of the Newcastle players made the squad, although Jake Livermore and Joe Gomez did.

Shearer posted his opinion on his Twitter page on Thursday after Gareth Southgate released details of the squad.

And Newcastle fans completely agree with him, with some saying the only reason they haven’t been picked is because they play for Newcastle.
Another labelled the decision as a disgrace and said it’s the reason why England will never do well in major tournaments.
