'Announce Tielemans' - Newcastle fans get excited after Ashley makes huge transfer promise
By Danny Wright
Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to react to Mike Ashley promising Rafa Benitez full support in the summer transfer window.
The controversial owner has told Benitez that he will pump all of the club’s profits into the transfer budget in a statement on Newcastle’s official website.
“I’ve confirmed to Rafa and Lee [Charnley] that they can have every last penny that the club generates through promotion, player sales and other means in order to build for next season,” said Ashley, who has owned the Tyneside club since 2007.
The news has come as a shock to the Toon Army who think that their club can now sign big-name players like Belgian wonderkid Youri Tielemans.

Good news. Rafa Benitez must know he can work with available funds or he would be away.

Since his takeover ten years ago, Ashley has come under repeat scrutiny for his failure to provide financial support to his club but now with their promotion to the Premier League, the penny seems to have finally dropped for the Sports Direct founder.
Newcastle ensured they would go up as champions on Sunday as they eased to a win over Barnsley while Brighton dropped two vital points at Aston Villa thanks to Jack Grealish’s late equaliser.
The work will now begin as Benitez is expected to make big changes to his squad with a number of players already linked with moves to Tyneside.
The Daily Mirror claims that Chelsea full-back Baba Rahman is a target and the Daily Mail reports that Newcastle are willing to break their transfer record by spending £20million on Everton midfielder James McCarthy.
In other Newcastle news, the Magpies are tipped to sign this 28-year-old goal scorer.
