'From Ronaldo to Townsend in weeks'- Twitter reacts to Benitez joining Newcastle

By Coral Barry

Rafael Benitez is on the verge of being named Newcastle manager- and Twitter is in shock.

The Spaniard was the boss of one of the world’s most powerful clubs, Real Madrid, just last year before being relieved of his duties in January.

Benitez coached some of football’s most talented players while at Madrid including three-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

Now heading to try and rescue the relegation threatened Newcastle, Twitter could not help but notice the dramatic change of pace in Benitez’s career choices.
