Football Insider rates the Newcastle player’s during their 3-0 defeat to Oxford in the FA Cup on Saturday.
Matz Sels 6 – Some competent saves from the Newcastle stopper, but beaten three times.
Jesus Gamez 5 – Covered his defence well early on, but could do little as Oxford kept on coming.
Grant Hanley 5 – Made a series of crucial interceptions, but second-best on the day.
Curtis Good 5 – A rare start for the Australian defender, not the most convincing of performances.
Massadio Haidara 5 – Caused a few problems by Oxford on the left-hand side. A few shaky moments.
Achraf Lazaar 6 – Defensively sound, with excellent link-up play with the attack. A threat from the wide-areas.
Isaac Hayden 6 – Instrumental in creating chances for his side, linking up well with Mitrovic. Perhaps missed the influence of midfield partner Shelvey.
Dan Barlaser 6 – Showed glimpses of quality, but rarely threatened to do real damage.
Yasin Ben El-Mhanni 6 – Energetic in the final-third. Posed a considerable threat to the Oxford goal. But lacked the finishing touch.
Ayoze Perez 5 – Quiet and uninspiring. Couldn’t any sort of difference.
Aleksandar Mitrovic 4 – Spurned a host of chances. Missed a penalty. Perhaps affected by a lack of match practice but the 22-year-old had a shocker.
Yoan Gouffran 6 (for El-Mhanni 68) – Little influence off the bench.
Matt Ritchie 6 (for Haidara 77) – Been in fine form of late. Got a valuable rest, but Newcastle missed him.
