Newcastle attacker makes big admission: I will be banging on the door of Benitez

Newcastle winger Rolando Aarons has revealed he will be banging on the door of manager Rafael Benitez to demand he is picked in the final matches of the season.
Aarons was tipped to thrive this season under Benitez, but a serious injury setback curtailed his season.
The 21-year-old played a part in all of Newcastle’s opening five fixtures, before being forced off in the EFL Cup win over Cheltenham with a foot injury.
However, this was just the start of the bad luck for Aarons, as he suffered a serious anterior cruciate ligament injury days after making a return to training, ruling him out for the majority of the season.
Having recovered from his injury nightmare, he insists he will be banging on boss Benitez’s door for a chance in the side, having watched his teammates success on the pitch from the sidelines.

He told the Chronicle: “I will be knocking on the gaffer’s door to see if I can play again this season,”
“We are back where we belong, it has been a hard journey but we are there.
“We are now looking forward to next season.”
The winger’s fledgling career has already been plagued with injuries which have limited his progress, and this season he has seen his place on the wing filled by the likes of Chelsea loanee Christian Atsu and Scottish international Matt Ritchie.
Aarons admits that missing out on the chance to play a role in Newcastle’s campaign has been a tough pill to swallow, in a season where most players have been cheering their successes.
However he says he is just looking to returning to the first team set up and earning himself some game time.
“I haven’t really had a lot of ups, but there’s been a lot of downs,” Aarons admitted to the Chronicle.
“I have just missed out on the promotion push.
“I want to come back and do what I normally do.”
So far in his Newcastle career, Aarons has made 22 appearances in the last three seasons, scoring three goals.
