Newcastle told to complete ‘easy deal’ for Tottenham wantaway Rodon after source’s update – pundit
Newcastle United is the perfect place for Joe Rodon to rebuild his Premier League career.
That’s according to former West Ham hitman Frank McAvennie, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Tottenham defender’s future.
On 4 December, a Tottenham source told Football Insider Rodon, 24, has his heart set on leaving the club in January.

The Wales international has played just 54 minutes of football in Antonio Conte’s five matches as Spurs boss.
He had only made five appearances this season before the Italian arrived.
If Rodon does leave North London, McAvennie claims Newcastle could be the “perfect” place for him to go.
“I’m sure he’s the kind of player Eddie Howe wants,” McAvennie told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“He has Premier League experience, he’s hungry and he has a point to prove.
“Throwing a player like that into a relegation scrap will either make them or break them.
“Newcastle needs defenders, I’ve been saying it for weeks. They can come in and get this boy, triple his wages, it’s an easy deal to do.
“That’s one I can see happening. He’s not one of the big names that have been linked.
“But Newcastle won’t sign those players straight away. To me, it seems like Newcastle could be the perfect place to go to rebuild his career.
“If he helps to keep them up then he’s going to be a regular Premier League player next season, isn’t he?
“That’s certainly an incentive.”

Newcastle won their first game of the season on Saturday (4 December).
Callum Wilson’s goal earned a 1-0 win over Burnley.
