‘Newcastle’s pursuit of Liam Delap hints at Alexander Isak uncertainty’
It is widely known that Alexander Isak has a lot of admirers, and that Newcastle will have to fend off some of Europe’s elite clubs if they want to keep hold of their star striker.
The Swedish international has scored 23 goals in 33 Premier League games for the Magpies, as well as picking up six assists.
Mo Salah is the only person ahead of the Newcastle forward in the Golden Boot race, with the Egyptian finding the net 28 times.
A few months back (5 Jan), Football Insider exclusively revealed that Isak is Arsenal’s top priority for the summer window, and the Gunners are still eager to secure the 25-year-old.

Delap interest could hint at Isak exit
It has been revealed that Newcastle are set to hold talks with Liam Delap and his representatives, ahead of a potential summer move from Ipswich.
Delap has been the subject of intense interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea.
However, Newcastle’s talks with the Ipswich forward could be a hint that their Swedish striker is set for a move away from St James’ Park.
Eddie Howe’s side play in a 4-3-3 system, utilising just one striker, Isak, with two wingers either side of him.
If Delap was to make the move to the northeast, it would most likely be to play as the first-choice number nine, something which won’t happen if Isak is still at the club.
It seems unlikely that both strikers will be at the Magpies next season.

Delap in high demand
Not only do Newcastle already have a first-choice striker at the club, but they would also have to fight hard to secure the signature of Delap.
It is no wonder that the Ipswich man is in such high demand, with the 22-year-old scoring 12 times for an Ipswich side who were relegated with four games still remaining.

Both Man United and Chelsea are already in the race for Delap, as the pair look to tackle their own separate issues up front.
Hojlund is set to leave United this summer, as senior figures have become frustrated with the striker, and they feel Delap would be the perfect replacement.
In Chelsea’s case, the English forward would fill the hole left by Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, with the pair unable to consistently perform for Enzo Maresca’s side.
