Nottingham Forest ‘busy behind the scenes’ as summit meeting could ‘erupt’ – Ex-PL CEO
Former Everton chief Keith Wyness has urged unhappy clubs like Nottingham Forest to come “prepared with a solution” if they are to try and force a change in the Premier League boardroom.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – predicted some “very difficult moments” for chief executive Richard Masters and chairperson Alison Brittain at the league’s summer AGM in June.
Nottingham Forest blasted the Premier League after their four-point deduction earlier this month, claiming their approach to the case has “harmed the trust and confidence” in top-flight chiefs.
The Midlands club also claimed their punishment is a “matter of extreme concern for all fans of our national game”.

Wyness previously told Football Insider (29 March) that owners of Premier League clubs like Nottingham Forest will be “calling for the heads” of top-flight chiefs.
He told Football Insider‘s Insider Track podcast: “There will be some very difficult moments for Richard Masters and Alison Brittain at the summer meeting.
“Clubs are very capable at expressing their displeasure. I’ve been there when I’ve been at the meeting on behalf of clubs in the past.
“Behind the scenes, there’ll be a lot going on.
“It may not erupt in that meeting. But I would say that clubs had better come prepared with a solution if they are unhappy with how the Premier League is being run.
“In the past, they’ve had real problems filling the role of chief executive and chairperson. I think Richard Masters was the fourth choice.
“Clubs like Nottingham Forest have got to present a viable alternative, instead of just calling for heads.”
