
Nottingham Forest complete paperwork on new arrival
Nottingham Forest have confirmed the official appointment of a new director at the City Ground, sources have told Football Insider.
As per a Companies House submission, Michael Dugher has now joined the club’s board.
Dugher, who is a Forest fan, spent seven years as a Labour MP for Barnsley East and served as shadow secretary of state for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
The 49-year-old is a business adviser and experienced chief executive, while he was also previously a board member of the Nottingham Forest Community Trust.
The director’s appointment follows a number of high-profile changes behind the scenes at the City Ground in recent months.
Football Insider revealed on 3 October Nicholas Randall KC has taken up the role of Forest chairman for the second time following Tom Cartledge’s decision to step down.
Lina Souloukou began work in Nottingham this week after she was recently appointed as the club’s new CEO.
It comes after Football Insider revealed on 7 August former director of football Kyriakos Dourekas had left his role at the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest flying after strong on-field performances
Forest’s board is now made up of Randall, co-owner Sokratis Kominakis, director Ioannis Vrentzos and non-executive directors Jonny Owen, Simon Forster and Dugher.
Evangelos Marinakis has recently reaffirmed his commitment to the club after converting £82million worth of loans into shares.
The Greek businessman has made a series of moves to convert debt into equity since securing his takeover of the club in 2017.
Forest have also enjoyed a hugely successful first half of the season on the pitch following several excellent performances.
