Nottingham Forest could now keep Gibbs-White & Murillo – fans react
Nottingham Forest fans believe they could keep Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo this summer amid warnings of another points deduction.
According to the Telegraph, Forest now have to raise £20million before 30 June if they are to avoid another breach of profit and sustainability rules.
It has been suggested that that money could be raised by the sale of fringe players, despite interest in Gibbs-White and Murillo, leading to speculation they could now be set to stay.
The star players, however, are regarded as the most sellable assets at the City Ground.
Forest had been handed a four-point deduction last season after breaching PSR by £34.5million, and if they cannot raise the £20million required, they face another deduction.
Nottingham Forest could avoid PSR issues while retaining key players in new twist
There had been a threat that both star players could be sold this summer to raise money amid PSR concerns, with Football Insider revealing Tottenham are showing a strong interest in Gibbs-White.
However, many supporters insisted the news means they will be able to hang on to the likes of Gibbs-White and Murillo despite the interest.
Others, however, think a points deduction may still be on the cards as they will struggle to raise £20million from fringe player sales.
Some fans still expect both Gibbs-White and Murillo to be on the chopping block.
In other news, Leicester City are facing an imminent points deduction.
