Nottingham Forest fans tear into ‘awful’ Matz Sels after what he did v Brighton

Nottingham Forest fans have been left raging at Matz Sels after what he did during their Premier League clash v Brighton.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side fought to secure a 2-2 draw at the AMEX after Ramon Sosa rescued a point following goals from Chris Wood, Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck.

However, it was the Forest goalkeeper who took the brunt of the supporters’ criticism as they felt he should have done better for both of the goals.

Sels’ lack of effort to save Welbeck’s free-kick was especially criticised as he stood rooted to the spot while the strike found its way into his side of the goal.

The goalkeeper has been subject to plenty of criticism since he joined the club last summer, and a shaky performance against Brighton has proved the final straw for many.

Forest completed a deal to sign Carlos Miguel from Brazilian outfit Corinthians during the summer, and there have now been calls for him to become their first-choice option.

Fans were already stunned by footage of the Brazilian prior to his arrival at the City Ground, and many are now insisting he should replace Sels after his performance.

However, following their latest draw against Brighton, many supporters were left frustrated by Sels’ display as they insisted he cost all three points.

Fans took to social media during the game as they tore into the goalkeeper, labelling him “shocking” and “unacceptable”, with many calling for him to be dropped.
