Nottingham Forest have perfect chance to land Davide Frattesi as Inter plans clear after January agreement
Nottingham Forest may never get a better chance to sign Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi than the one that is about to be presented to them this summer.
The East Midlands outfit came within a whisker of landing the 26-year-old in the January window, as they had an agreement in place for a transfer, only to see their efforts thwarted by Inter’s failure to land Curtis Jones.
Frattesi has remained a long-term target for the Reds, who are currently fighting against relegation from the Premier League heading into the final weeks of the league season.
Vitor Pereira and Co. look set to pursue the Inter star once again this summer, provided that they stay in the top-flight, and his current club are set to be totally compliant with their efforts.
Forest’s transfer plans for the summer are taking shape, and the door is firmly open for them to make Frattesi their first new addition in the midfield.

Frattesi scored some crucial goals for Inter in their push against Napoli at the top of Serie A last term, but this time around, he has found himself on the fringes of the squad.
The former Sassuolo man has managed just three starts in the league since the beginning of the campaign, and that has put his future in serious doubt ahead of the summer.

Roma are also showing an interest in taking him away from the San Siro, but InterLive have recently reported that Forest remains the “most likely” destination for his next step.
Talks between the Nerazzurri and Pereira’s side are expected to resume if they secure their Premier League status at the end of the season, and it has already become clear that Inter would be more than willing to sell.
Another InterLive report has suggested that the Italian giants are planning to make every player in their squad available for transfer, apart from Lautaro Martinez and Francesco Pio Esposito.
That presents Forest with a golden chance to land Frattesi as part of Inter’s firesale, and it is surely one that will be too good for them to pass up.
How much would a move for Frattesi cost?
Former Aston Villa chief executive Keith Wyness recently told Football Insider that Forest will need to begin selling players this summer if they are to improve their financial situation.
However, that would also likely free up a little more cash for further improvements to be made to the squad to ensure that they can pull away from the bottom end of the table next term.
The Reds’ agreement with Inter for Frattesi’s move in January involved a loan deal with the option to buy set in the region of the £34million mark.
However, with the midfielder set to enter the final two years of his contract in the summer, Inter would surely be willing to accept a significant reduction on that fee.
With that in mind, it is certainly possible that a summer move for Frattesi may be achievable for Forest for around £25m, and that price would surely be a bargain for a player of his experience.
