Nottingham Forest must prepare for imminent Dan Ndoye exit as star raises Vitor Pereira concerns

Nottingham Forest appear increasingly likely to lose frustrated star Dan Ndoye when the summer transfer window opens.

The Switzerland international is currently away with his country during a break in the Premier League calendar, and he has used the time to hit out at the amount of gametime that he has received since Vitor Pereira’s arrival.

The Portuguese boss was appointed at the City Ground in the middle of February, and that has coincided with a run of games that has seen the winger fall to the fringes of the squad.

Ndoye represented an expensive outlay for the East Midlands outfit when they shelled out £34million to sign him from Bologna last summer, but things certainly haven’t gone to plan for him so far.

Nottingham Forest’s transfer plans are set to see them try and strengthen again if they survive relegation, but they may have to contend with departures first.

Dan Ndoye comments show clear exit pathway

Ndoye scored the opener for Switzerland in their 4-3 defeat to Germany on Friday, but that is the first time that he has found the back of the net for either club or country since he scored against Sweden in the November international break.

The 25-year-old hasn’t netted in the Premier League since the opening day of the season, and he has now made it perfectly clear that he is unhappy with his situation in England.

Ndoye has started just once since Pereira took the reins, and that came as part of a heavily rotated team in the second leg of their Europa League last 16 tie with Midtjylland.

The player himself has now questioned his lack of gametime at the City Ground, as he pulled no punches after his goal on Friday night.

“I don’t have a lot of minutes at club level, but I showed today that I have quality. I feel great with Switzerland and I want to enjoy those moments,” the wideman told Swiss outlet RTS.

“It was important for me to get minutes and also score. Why don’t I play at Nottingham Forest? I wonder that too”.

Ndoye’s frustration over his lack of playing time is a clear sign that a pathway is developing leading to an exit, as he will surely look to try and find a solution to his issues elsewhere in the summer.

Ndoye likely to miss out on Vitor Pereira salvation

Football Insider revealed shortly after Pereira was appointed that he would be sacked by Forest if the team were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

That could have provided salvation for Ndoye in a different manner, as the manager who is clearly not a fan of him could have been shown the door.

However, the Reds’ survival hopes received a huge shot in the arm with their 3-0 win away at Tottenham last time out, and it is now looking increasingly unlikely that they will slip into the second tier.

That looks set to take one of the potential options off the table for Ndoye, as Pereira would surely be in line to keep his job if he achieved the remit that was laid out for him.

Instead, the more likely scenario appears to be for Ndoye to push for a move, and after a season of limited production, it would be a surprise to see the club stand in his way.
