‘Nottingham Forest on the offensive after Gibbs-White deal amid Traore, McAtee and Ndoye news’
Nottingham Forest have turned their transfer window around as they look to add more signings ahead of the new Premier League season.
Forest enjoyed a sensational 2024-25 campaign in Nuno Espirito Santo’s first full season in charge.
Combining defensive solidity with counter-attacking efficiency, the Garibaldi shot to the upper echelons of the league early on.
Chris Wood scored an English top-division career best of 20 goals whilst the Forest backline topped the defensive charts, winning Matz Sels the Golden Glove with 13 clean sheets.
Ahead of the new season, Espirito Santo lost winger Anthony Elanga to Newcastle but did manage to hold on to Morgan Gibbs-White amid interest from Tottenham.
Now seeking to strengthen for the additional fixtures of the Europa League, Forest have agreed a club-record deal for Bologna’s Dan Ndoye.
Still, the club are not done yet in the transfer market with just over two weeks until the start of the Premier League.
Nottingham Forest in for Traore
According to the Guardian (29 July), Forest are interested in signing Fulham winger Adama Traore.
Traore played under Espirito Santo at Wolves with the Portuguese bringing out the best in the Spaniard during his spell in charge.
Additionally, it is reported that the Reds are “considering increasing” their bid for Man City’s James McAtee.

After an initial £20million and £5m add-ons offer was turned down, the club are looking to go back to the table to bring the England Under-21 to Nottingham.
The report also touched on €40m (34.6m) Ndoye who is set to join this week after completing his medical with personal terms “not thought to be an issue” given he turned down Napoli.
Nottingham Forest found their footing in the transfer window
After losing Elanga and nearly selling Gibbs-White, things are looking brighter at the City Ground.
But, holding on to the Englishman has proved crucial to the club turning around their nervy start to the transfer window.
The midfielder’s three-year contract extension set the precedent for a tougher and bolder Forest who weren’t going to roll over easy to the Premier League big boys.

Adding Ndoye to their ranks to replace Newcastle’s new acquisition also sends out a strong message that the club are prepared to spend the money they accrue from sales.
The Swiss international is highly thought of, providing eight goals and four assists in the Serie A last season.
Further additions of Traore and McAtee would be indicative of Evangelos Marinakis’ desire to keep his club as a major contender in Europe for years to come.
It is impressive how the Garibaldi have turned their summer around as they look to stay on the offensive ahead of an exciting 2025-26 season.
