Omari Hutchinson reacts to Hudson-Odoi’s farewell message as Nottingham Forest axe confirmed
Nuno Espirito Santo’s departure from Nottingham Forest has led to an outpouring of tributes from his close-knit group of players.
Football Insider revealed early on Tuesday that Ange Postecoglou would replace the sacked Espirito Santo after his overnight exit on 8 September, and the Australian’s appointment was swiftly confirmed.
Espirito Santo‘s relationship with Evangelos Marinakis completely deteriorated over recent months at the City Ground, and Football Insider revealed that Forest’s two key figures had held crisis talks on Monday.
Nottingham Forest‘s rise up the Premier League table, recording a seventh-placed finish and being in a Champions League place for much of last term, has counted for little with Espirito Santo dismissed just three games into the new season.

‘The best’ – Hudson-Odoi pays tribute to Nuno Espirito Santo
Stuart Pearce has expressed his concerns over Postecoglou as the replacement for Espirito Santo at the City Ground, with the Australian’s all-out attacking style of play a stark contrast to Forest’s current setup.
Players like Callum Hudson-Odoi and the recently-sold Anthony Elanga excelled in the Portuguese’s counter-attacking system focused on fast breaks, and changes could now be afoot under Postecoglou.
Hudson-Odoi signed a new contract to commit his future to Forest on 30 August, and the winger posted on Instagram to pay tribute to Espirito Santo in the wake of his dismissal on Tuesday.
Omari Hutchinson was one of several Forest stars to like Hudson-Odoi’s message, which said: “Thank you for Everything Boss!
“I learnt a lot from you and made some great memories along the way. I wish you nothing but the best for the future in your new chapter”.
Omari Hutchinson decision contributes to Espirito Santo sack
Hutchinson arrived at the City Ground on 16 August to provide competition for Hudson-Odoi out wide, with Nottingham Forest paying a club-record £37.5million fee for the promising Ipswich Town star.
However, that record outlay counted for little when Espirito Santo left Hutchinson out of Forest’s Europa League squad on 3 September, ahead of their return to competition on the continent after 29 years away.
Espirito Santo not making use of new signings like Hutchinson and Douglas Luiz was the “final straw” for Nottingham Forest’s hierarchy, and the entire Premier League will now have eyes on the changes which Postecoglou looks set to make at the City Ground.
