Kolo Toure believes he is at an “amazing” club after returning to Celtic in a non-playing role before boldly claiming Brendan Rodgers is one of the best young coaches in world football.
The former Ivory Coast international has recently joined Rodgers’ coaching staff at Parkhead after hanging his boots up over the summer.
The 36-year-old made 20 appearances in his sole season as a player at for the Bhoys before calling it a day.
Despite retiring over the summer, some fans wanted to see Toure handed a new deal to extend his playing career with the Scottish champions facing an injury crisis early in the season.
Toure is one of only a select handful of players to have completed an ‘Invincible’ season with two clubs – Celtic and Arsenal – and believes he can learn a lot working under Rodgers.

“I am at an amazing club which has a great manager like Brendan Rodgers so I know I could not be in a better place and I am very thankful for that,” Toure said about the Hoops’ senior man, as quoted by the club’s official website.
“The manager and his staff are really great guys so I’m very happy to be here with them and I want to do everything I can to help them and learn as much as I can as a coach.
“I know I can learn so much from working with Brendan Rodgers as he is a top manager. I will be working with him and his staff very closely each day so there will be a lot for me to learn.
“Brendan is one of the best young managers in the world right now. What he’s doing for Celtic is there for all to see, and he’s doing amazing right now.”
Toure also had spells with Manchester City and Liverpool and is one of only eight players to have lifted the Premier League with two different clubs having won it with both Arsenal and Man City.
The former defender also picked up an incredible 120 caps for the Ivory Coast in a long international career.
In addition to his coaching role with Celtic, Toure was recently appointed as coach of the Ivorian Under-23 side as they prepare for next year’s Olympic Games.
