
‘Leave him’, ‘Why?’, ‘Waste of time’ – Leeds fans fume at confirmed update on £2.25m player
Leeds United midfielder Ezgjan Alioski has been called up for the Macedonia national side for their upcoming friendlies against Azerbaijan and Finland, and fans are not happy.
The player update was posted on the official Leeds Twitter page on Friday morning.
The 26-year-old joined for £2.25m from FC Lugano in the summer but has struggled to win fans over at Elland Road.
He has made 32 Championship appearances and scored six league goals, but he seems to have run out of steam in recent weeks.
He’s only scored one goal since the start of December, only played 45 minutes in the 3-0 defeat to Middlesbrough and was dropped by Paul Heckingbottom for the Wolves clash.
And fans are incredulous that he’s been picked for the international side, with one saying his thoughts and prayers were with Macedonia.
Another fan enquired whether they could keep him.
