The prospect of playing regular football is the only thing that will make Tyler Roberts leave Leeds United for Newcastle United this summer.

That’s according to former Leeds stopper Paul Robinson, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Roberts’ future.

Football Insider revealed on Saturday that Roberts is attracting interest from Newcastle going into the summer window.

Roberts, 22, is out of contract next summer and is stalling on accepting a long-term contract offered by Leeds.

It is understood the Whites value Roberts around the £10million mark.

The versatile midfielder has made 25 appearances in the Premier League this season, picking up two assists.

Robinson claims Roberts will have plenty of clubs chasing him if he doesn’t sign a new deal.

“Tyler Robers will have clubs chasing him if he doesn’t sign this contract,” Robinson told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.

“He’s got a decision to make. Whether he wants to play regular football. That’s the only thing that will take him away from Elland Road.

“He hasn’t played as much as he would want to but now he’s got a taste for it, he knows he won’t get that at Leeds.

“Look at the midfield Leeds have. If everyone’s fit, he doesn’t get in. If they strengthen again he could be even further down the pecking order.

“So maybe there’s the chance for another club to nick him.”

Leeds are on course for a top half finish after a positive run of results.

The Whites face Southampton and West Brom before the season wraps up this weekend.
