'Outstanding' Nuno tipped to transform Everton as talks get underway - pundit
Nuno Espirito Santo would be an “outstanding” managerial appointment for Everton, according to Alan Hutton.
The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 47-year-old could bring the best out of the Toffees’ squad next season.
Football Insider revealed Everton are set for talks with the Portuguese boss today (Friday, 4th June) following Carlo Ancelotti’s exit.
It is understood Nuno is Farhad Moshiri’s first choice to take over, though Bill Kenwright is championing a return for David Moyes.
This site revealed on Wednesday (2nd June), the billionaire owner had already made contact with Nuno’s agent Jorge Mendes over a potential deal.
Hutton suggested Everton could be the perfect move for the Portuguese boss, who three times won the Premier League manager of the month.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “He’s done an outstanding job at Wolves. We have to look at what he’s done and really admire it, to be brutally honest.
“It’s come a time now where it is probably best for both club and manager to maybe break free. Have new ideas somewhere else. Fresh faces, all that sort of stuff.
“Maybe the time was right for him to leave Wolves. They did stutter last season and time for a change for them as well. We know he’s a very good manager, tactically aware, he likes to play good football.
“If you get that Everton job with the squad that they have, a couple of additions to it, they can be a real threat next season. I think that would be a great move for him.”
Nuno left Wolves by mutual consent at the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
He won 43 of his 114 Premier League games in charge.
