Phil Thompson predicts Liverpool v Everton clash
By Dominic Toner
Ex-Liverpool player Phil Thompson has predicted his former side to record a comfortable victory over Everton at the weekend.
The Reds host their Merseyside rivals on Saturday at Anfield and will be looking to stretch their three-game unbeaten run.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are vying for a spot in the top four this season and are currently fourth in the league table, while the Toffees are six points adrift of them in seventh.
Pundit Thompson has tipped Liverpool to pick up a 3-1 victory over Everton and has backed Sadio Mane to score the first goal, as cited by Sky Sports.
Liverpool attacker Mane did prove the difference in the previous meeting as his stoppage time winner sparked wild celebrations at Goodison Park.

However, Ronald Koeman’s side are going to be seeking revenge and are looking to break into the top six sides in the league.
Both Merseyside clubs do have fresh injury concerns ahead of the highly anticipated clash, with Seamus Coleman sidelined due to the broken leg he sustained during the international break.
Meanwhile for Liverpool, creative playmaker Adam Lallana has been ruled out through injury and the pressure for a good supplying line will fall to someone else.
Klopp’s side will go into the match full of confidence, though, as they are unbeaten in the league against teams in the top half of the table this season.
