Picture on Twitter reveals what these former Liverpool men looked like when they were younger

By Emma Sanders

Leading Liverpool fan account, Empire of the Kop have posted pictures of a number of Reds’ stars looking very young on their Twitter account.

The picture features club legends, Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher and shows seven Liverpool stars looking very fresh faced in a nostalgic image.

Alongside the long-serving duo, Pep Reina, Luis Suarez, Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel are all pictured and some of their youth images are quite amusing.

Gerrard is pictured as a young boy wearing a Liverpool shirt, supposedly taken during his days playing with the academy.

His former teammate, Carragher is modelling an old England shirt, which was sponsored by Umbro, alongside Skrtel who is donning a former Zenit St Petersburg shirt.

Gerrard and Carragher both notched up over 700 appearances for Liverpool and are just two of the three players to achieve the feat, with Ian Callaghan topping the list with 857 performances for the Reds.

Suarez is considered one of the best strikers to play for Liverpool and almost single-handedly guided the team to a Premier League title in 2014.

Defenders, Skrtel and Agger built a formidable partnership between 2008 and 2012 and were senior figures in the side throughout their careers, adding aggression and leadership at centre-back.

Former goal-keeper Pepe Reina, who’s image is slightly older than the others, played 394 games for the club, including the 2007 Champions League final loss against AC Milan.
