'He'll bag 20-25 goals this season' - Former Rangers ace hails Caixinha summer signing
By James Black
Former Rangers ace Hugh Burns has hailed Pedro Caixinha’s summer transfer business and believes teams will take notice of Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos if he keeps banging the goals in.
21-year-old Morelos has scored five times in seven appearances for Rangers since his move from HJK Helsinki and Burns reckons that he can be the 25-goals-a-season striker Rangers have been crying out for.
51-year-old former defender Burns is also impressed with some of the other signings Caixinha has made this summer as part of his Rangers rebuild, with the acquisition of Portuguese trio Bruno Alves, Daniel Candeias and Fabio Cardoso also singled out.
With a marked improvement in quality on the pitch, Burns also feels the Rangers board’s financial backing of Caixinha should be applauded.
Moving on twelve players and bringing eleven in could have been disastrous for the Gers but Burns is confident that the manager has picked his targets wisely to strengthen his squad.

Speaking to the Herald, Burns said:
“Hats off to the chairman and the board for backing the manager because I think we can all see that Pedro’s signings have been strong.
“Alves is different class and Cardoso looks good beside him. Candeias is bombing up and down the right and Morelos really looks the part up front.
“The only problem now is that people will start sitting up and taking notice of him now, especially if keeps scoring regularly – and I think that he will.
“I’m certain he’ll bag 20-25 goals this season but he is more than a predator. His touch is good, he can hold it in and he’s brave too.”
